today was a fun and lazy day. last night we had a sleepover with P and the boys, which is always fun. P and I end up staying up waaaayyyy too late talking and the kids stay up waaaayyyy too late playing around, but it's waaayyyy fun nonetheless. we awoke to wrestling children and had breakfast, let them play for a while, then the kids and I headed home for showers and lunch and back out we went. we were going to take them bowling, but the alley was packed full of airmen, which we figured would be swearing and such and not make it very child-friendly... so we searched for about 1/2 hour for a park on the map nearby. it was so freaking confusing. finally, when we gave up and headed back, we found the park! it was such an awesome park. we first walked up to this huge slide and wood play area, then as we continued into the park, there was a small play area with swings and teeter-totters and spinners, and then a toddler play area, then in the back was this HUGE slide. nothing like i'd seen before. HUGE drop slide. literally, when you go down, for the first few feet, you're in mid air. scary! P's 7 year old went first, then it was Monkey's turn. He got up to the top, looked down and cried. it was so pathetic. i know if Daddy were there, he would have gone no problem. but, he decided to be a wuss. so then P's almost 5 year old wouldn't go, then P wouldn't take the 3 year old in fear he'd get dropped, so I thought i'd push my fears to the side and go... i mean, when else would i do such a thing like that?! and, if the 7 year old can do it, then darn it, so can i! so up i went, P with camera in hand... here are some fun shots from the day...
Here I am hanging before i let go... yes, this was essentially cheating, as it allowed me to get about a third of the way down without falling...

Monkey's turn on the slide... he finally went after i did... and held H's hand. at least he went! woo hoo! and of course, he LOVED it!

Here's P about to P in her pants...

Mel really wanted to go on the huge slide, but i just didn't see that as safe. maybe she can go when Daddy gets back. i dont' trust myself to hold her all the way down. it was scary! she loves the swings though...

and here's monkey looking like he's going to puke. these spinners are tilted so that once you start, your body weight keeps you going like crazy!
